On November 16th local time, the 1500MW gas-fired combined cycle independent power plant in Uzbekistan, contracted by China Energy Engineering Corporation, successfully completed performance tests and 240 hours of reliable operation, achieving a major milestone in the project. This marks that the Uzi gas turbine project has met the conditions for commercial operation of the entire plant, and the power station has officially entered the stage of stable power output, providing stable energy support for the economic development of Uzbekistan and even the entire Central Asian region.
In order to ensure the smooth commissioning of the combined cycle and achieve reliable operation as soon as possible, the project department has organized carefully, conducted scientific and meticulous inspections of various systems in the project, and formulated multiple contingency plans to ensure stable operation of each system. Faced with challenges such as power grid load limitations, the project department coordinated with the owner, financing bank, and power grid company to adjust and optimize the test plan. Eventually, the test requirements were successfully completed, and the reliability operation goal was achieved, laying a solid foundation for the commercial operation of the project.
As the largest combined cycle independent power generation project in Uzbekistan in recent years, the project has received high attention from various parties such as the Uzbekistan government, financing banks, local media, and the public since its launch. The project department will continue to make every effort to cooperate with the owner to promote follow-up work, ensure the smooth completion of the established goals of the project, and contribute to the energy cooperation between China and Uzbekistan and the energy transformation of Uzbekistan.
